Three-Dimensional Curved Thin-Wire FDTD Method for Simulating Towed Antennas in Seawater Half-Space

摘要

In this letter, the three-dimensional (3-D) curved thin-wire finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is proposed and discussed in detail. The method improves the computational stability via wire grouping, and the correctness of the proposed method is verified by comparing with FEKO software and SI-FDTD algorithm. Moreover, the towed antennas in seawater half-space are simulated using the proposed method. The results demonstrate that the shape of the towed antenna affects the underwater energy distribution in the near region, while it has little impact at longer distances.
