摘要
The surface tension of superheated and undercooled liquid Ni (nickel)-5 wt % silicon alloy was discussed using the electromagnetic oscillating drop method. The method was used over wide temperature range from 1417 to 1994 K and maximum undercooling of 206 K was achieved. During the electromagnetic leviation, Rayleigh's equation was used as basic model for oscillation drop method but was applicable only to spherical droplets. The viscosity, solute diffusion coefficient and density of liquid Ni alloy were also elaborated.
