Switch on and off the deflection of high frequency SH wave by waveguides with phase discontinuity

摘要

We propose an elastic metasurface composed of specially designed waveguides with single-phase material and different thicknesses for switching on an off the deflection of high frequency SH wave. The waveguides can only support 1-order anti-symmetric guided SH wave with the antisymmetric boundary conditions applied. Using this point, the span of the metasurface supercell and the thicknesses of the waveguides in the supercell are designed according to the GSL for a required deflection angle of the incident SH wave. It is demonstrated theoretically and numerically that the metasurface can switch on and off the deflection of the incident SH wave by applying or withdraw the anti-symmetric boundary conditions. The proposition here could be used to design new ultrasonic device.
