摘要
Evaporation duct is an anomalous atmospheric surface layer over the sea surface and has severe influence on the microwave propagation. The evaporation duct height, which implies the strength of the evaporation duct, is an important physical quantity. Based on National Centers for Environmental Prediction Climate Forecast System Reanalysis data and the evaporation duct model, high spatial resolution database of evaporation duct height is established. An empirical model is also proposed to quantify the inhomogeneity of evaporation duct height, and the statistical features of spatial distribution for the South China Sea are then analyzed. These relative results can be applied to marine radar and communication systems design and operation.
