Research on collaborative design system based on mobile agent

The mobile agent technology has brought new research method for collaborative design system. Based on the research on agent and collaborative design technologies, their relevant formalized definitions were provided. The network-based and collaborative design system was put forward which included such technologies as Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA), mobile agent, static agent, extensible Markup Language (XML) and Concurrent Engineering (CE), etc. The multi-layer system framework and its collaboration model between system agent and mobile agent were given. The process example execution algorithm of the system was discussed. This study aimed to provide theoretical basis for the further research on the collaborative design system based on mobile agent.
