N2 - In the modern submarine communication system, the aircraft based towed antenna is one of the most important components, radiation field distribution of aerial towed antenna need to be researched urgently. In this paper, the radiation characteristics of a towed antenna with a length of 3 km in a seawater half-space is studied. The simulations show that regardless of the depth, the region with a high field value always appears in a small region under the towed antenna, and the distributions in a long distance is similar to an annulus. Furthermore, the energy of the radiation magnetic field is always greater than that of the radiation electric field at the same depth.
