title = "Optimal control of 6-DOF electromagnetic formation using Legedre pseudospectral method",
abstract = "The satellite formation flying involved in electromagnetic forces is studied in this paper. A 6-DOF relative motion model taking into account the inherent electromagnetic coupling is established to achieve synchronous control of both the relative translation and rotation in the array. Based on this model, the coupling effects can be fully utilized so as to treat the electromagnetic torque part of the control moment rather than the disturbance. Considering the reconfiguration of electromagnetic formation flying as an optimal control problem with regard to relative translation, angular momentum management and control output, it is transformed into a constrained non-linear program through the Legendre pseudospectral method. A novel high-precision numerical computation method is developed against the strong nonlinearity and coupling of the system. Feasible trajectories for both the general and the specific planar formation reconfiguration are generated to verify the validity of the proposed dynamic model and optimization algorithm. Copyright",
