摘要

The recent research on the nearly rapid directional solidification and microstructure were reviewed. The morphology transitions and the corresponding mechanical properties were presented. The critical velocities relevant to the morphology transitions were comprehensively given. Meanwhile the solidification characteristics near absolute stability limit were studied. It can be clearly seen that the superfine microstructure possess extremely better properties compared with the conventional microstructure.
