Investigation into the inuences of the low speeds accuracy on the hypersonic heating predictions for the reusable manned space vehicle

摘要

With the rapid progress of the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), it has been developed as an effective aerodynamic design tool to predict hypersonic heating accurately for the design of the reusable manned space vehicle. To solve this problem, many researchers study the upwind scheme’s choice and focused on the following two aspects: the schemes level of robustness against the shock anomaly and the schemes resolution in capturing discontinuity. Few people relate this problem to the schemeś level of accuracy at low speeds. In this paper, we conduct a systematic study on this issue. Results in our test cases show that a high level of accuracy at low speeds is beneficial to the hypersonic heating prediction for the reusable space vehicles.
