Hot deformation behavior and microstructure evolution of BT25 alloy with lamellar starting microstructure

摘要

In the present investigation,samples of BT25 titanium alloy with lamellar starting microstructure were compressed with the Gleeble-1500 simulator machine. The compression tests were carried out in the temperature range from 940 to 1000°C and strain rates from 0. 01 to 10s-1:. Characteristics of flow stress-strain curves of the alloy were analyzed. The constitutive relation of BT25 alloy at high temperature is described by hyperbolic-sine-type equation and Zener-Hollomon parameter,and the deformation activation energy (Q) is calculated to be 623. 26kJ. mol-1 in α+β phase region. The main evolution character of the microstructure is the globularization of lamellae, and the degree of globularization of lamellae increased with increasing strain, increasing deformation temperature and decreasing strain rate.
