Facile synthesis of the magnetic BiOCl/ZnFe2O4 heterostructures with enhanced photocatalytic activity under visible-light irradiation

摘要

The magnetic BiOCl/ZnFe2O4 heterostructures was successfully synthesized via a facile hydrothermal method and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The results indicated that the new BiOCl/ZnFe2O4 composites exhibited wide absorption in the visible-light region. The heterostructures displayed exceptionally high photocatalytic activity (up to ∼99%) compared with pure BiOCl (only to 43%) and ZnFe2O4 NPs (only to 27%) for the degradation of penicillin G (PG) under visible-light irradiation. Moreover, good recyclability was also obtained from the BiOCl/ZnFe2O4 photocatalysis. Meanwhile, A possible photocatalytic mechanism based on the BiOCl/ZnFe2O4 heterostructures has been proposed.
