摘要

The authors (Fei, Deng and Dan) wish to update their article with the following amendment and addition to the text (at the end of paragraph 5, followed by the sentence “…and the vertical deflection and torsional vibration can be decoupled.”: Luco and Turmo made a detailed review of the dynamic modelling and analysis methods for suspension bridges in 2010, and determined the threshold amplitudes of vibration that would result in incipient slackening of the hangers. These thresholds serve to determine the range of applicability of linearized suspension bridge models [2]. Their work is of great significance to sort out the context of suspension bridge dynamics research, which has been omitted from the original paper and is supplemented here. The sentence starting on line 14 of page 5 misrepresents the model of Turmo and Luco (Ref. [1]) which, in reality, includes spatially-varying flexible hangers coupling the main cables with the stiffening girder.
