An experimental investigation on sealing characteristics of interlacing labyrinth

The influencing factors and correlations on flow parameter of iterlacing labyrinth are investigated in experiments. The factors include number of restrictions, ratio of restriction's thickness to clearance about axis direction and diametrically and pressure ratio. A number of valuable conclusions have been drawn on basis of analyses. Empirical expressions for leakage are formulated. The agreement of calculation with experimental data is good.
