摘要
To alleviate the broadcast storm problem caused by blind flooding, an adaptive probabilistic broadcasting strategy based on cross-layer design for wireless sensor networks (APBCL) is proposed. The distance between the sender and the receiver is estimated by the received signal power at the MAC layer in APBCL, which is applied to adaptively adjust the rebroadcasting probability. APBCL reduces the redundant retransmission and the chance of the contention and collision among neighboring nodes in the networks. The simulation results demonstrate that APBCL improves saved rebroadcast and reduces the average packet drop fraction and average end-to-end delay compared against the blind flooding and fixed probabilistic flooding at the expense of a little throughput.
