abstract = "A wideband circularly polarized phased array antenna operating in Ka-band suitable for low-orbit satellite communications is proposed in this paper. The antenna element features a truncated square patch on the top layer integrated with an asymmetric ring structure incorporating branched extensions, which effectively enhances the axial ratio (AR) bandwidth. The measured results demonstrate an impedance bandwidth (S11 < -10 dB) of 14.7\% (28.42-32.89 GHz) and an axial ratio below 3 dB across the operating band. An 8×8 antenna array is constructed using this element, employing sequential rotation technique to further improve AR bandwidth. Simulation results show that the antenna array achieves a gain of 22.31dBi without beam scanning, with a gain exceeding 19.01dBi at 60° E-plane scanning. The proposed design exhibits a compact structure with wide bandwidth and stable radiation characteristics, and excellent wide-angle scanning performance, making it well-suited for Ka-band satellite communication systems.",
