A Jamming Mitigation Method For Time-Domain Phase Modulation of Electromagnetic Metasurfaces

摘要

Electromagnetic metasurface modulation, as a new type of flexible and controllable passive jamming technique, severely affects the radar target detection performance. To address this problem, a novel jamming mitigation method is proposed. The algorithm follows three steps. Firstly, the jamming modulation parameters are estimated by analyzing the time and frequency characteristics of metasurface-based jamming. Then, reconstruct the periodic jamming signal using the estimated modulation frequency and duty cycle. Finally, the periodic modulation jamming component be eliminated by multiplying the radar echo with time-delayed reconstructed modulation signal. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm not only effectively mitigates the metasurface periodic phase modulation jamming but also could improve the radar detection performance.
