摘要
In order to reduce vibration and noise and to raise working efficiency, we propose a different way of implementing the usual three segment modification of pinion profile. Section 1 of the full paper explains our way of implementing the three segment modification of pinion profile; its core is that we deduce eq. (3) as the cutter surface equation by substituting three segment parabolas for straight lines. Subsections 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 explain how to calculate the desired modification of tooth profile. Section 3 explains how to optimize gear tooth profile; its core is that we choose the minimum transmission error as optimization goal. Finally we give an optimization example that compares the experimental results before gear tooth profile modification with those after such modification. The experimental results are presented in Table 3 and, for saving space, the last paragraph of section 4 merely summarizes instead of presenting other experimental results. Table 3 and the above-mentioned summary show preliminarily that our different way of implementing three segment modification of gear tooth profile is indeed better than existing ones.
