Abstract

Transmission behavior of electrorheological fluid under ultraviolet radiation was investigated in this paper. A shaking phenomenon was found and its density changed with particle concentration of electrorheological fluid. The transmission ratio increases with the external field and showed a shake peak, which was found to shift towards longer wavelength with increasing particle concentration. We considered that the shaking phenomenon was attributed to scatter character of electromagnetic wave in electrorheological fluid.
