Abstract

Aiming at ambiguous expression and miscellaneous changes of process in machining process planning under 2D environment, a new process planning mode under Three-Dimensional(3D) environment was proposed in which 3D process model was taken as the carrier for process information. A closed-loop architecture including design, data management and on-site application feedback of 3D machining process was put forward. The constitution elements of 3D machining process planning were analyzed. The transformation method from machining process ontology to geometric modeling ontology and 3D annotation inheritance method were proposed. Therefore, 3D procedure model could be obtained from process designer oriented to machining process knowledge directly. The composition structure of 3D machining process chart was studied. The mapping relationship between process expression elements and process chart elements in 3D machining process models were established to implement machining process planning under 3D environment.
