Abstract

The Ni-Fe-W-P alloy was deposited on the surface of glass fiber via electroless plating process. The bath was very steady through the Palladium salt test. There were no phenomena of peeling and blistering on the surface of the Ni-Fe-W-P alloy glass fiber in the thermal shock test. It shows that the deposit has the high impact strength and the good adhesion. The morphologies of the coatings were observed through the scanning electron microscope (SEM). The elements and their content were tested and analyzed through energy dispersion X-ray analysis (EDXA). The tungsten content was 22.2wt% at most. The effects of concentrations of NiSO4, FeSO4 and Na2WO4 on the conductivity of the coatings were studied. The resistivity of the Ni-Fe-W-P alloy glass fiber reached 28.3×l0-3Ω·cm. The alloy coating on glass fiber was analyzed by XRD, the results indicate that deposit has an amorphous structure and good heat stability. The suitable work temperature range is lower than 250°C. At last, the electromagnetic parameters of the Ni-Fe-W-P alloy glass fiber were tested and analyzed. The magnetic loss reached 0.054 75 and the dielectric loss reached 2.184 24. The alloy as plated is a kind of soft magnetic material.
