abstract = "This paper investigates the influence of the support struts on the resistance coefficient prediction for an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) using the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method. Resistance coefficients were calculated for the AUV under the influence of the support struts and at infinite dive depth. And grid-independent validation has been carried out to determine the validity of the computational methods. The results show that the effect of the support struts on the resistance of the AUV cannot be ignored. The frictional resistance is affected within acceptable limits, but the influence in the compressive resistance is terrible. For the single strut deep immersion system, the effect of the strut on the AUV resistance results decreases with increasing depth and test speed. This research provided valuable experience for Northwestern Polytechnical University when conducting towing tank model tests.",
