The construction way of industrial design color tool based on Ostwald's Color System

Abstract

The paper study the construction principle of Ostwald's Color System according as color theory and knowledge of industrial design (ID), realize the visual model of Ostwald's Color Solid applying the OPENGL technology, then realize color's selection through the method of lower dimension display, at the same time, according to the theory of color harmony, build up the idiographic technology course to realize harmony, so assist user finish the color design quickly according to the harmony ruler of Color System. Finally, The paper validated the tool's practice in the course of color design through the example of product color design.
