Abstract

In the deep ocean scenario, the sound propagates by typical models, such as convergence zone model or bottom bounce model. When the sound propagates in the bottom bounce model, there are four typical paths which the sound travels by. The difference between four typical paths conducts to four different travel time. The signal travel time is in a certain structure for a vertical array, which has been proved by a vertical array data. Utilizing the feature of the certain temporal arrival structure, a cost function is proposed to locate the source. Both the numerical simulations and experimental results proved the temporal arrival structure and show that the proposed localization method can work well.
