Abstract

In recent years, with the expansion of the scale of the aircraft and the increase of electricity consumption on aircraft, in order to fully utilize the limited space on the plane and to easily install the electrical wires, a common way is to make the wires laid bunched together. Due to the proximity effect, the impedance of the wires bunched together compared to that of the wires installed singly has greatly changed. Impedance changing causes changes in the voltage drop on the wires, and the load may not work well. In this paper, Maxwell is used to model the bunched wires, and co-simulation of Maxwell and Simplorer is adopted to obtain the impedance value of the wire under test. According to the simulation results, if multiple wires are laid bunched together, in order to minimize the core wire's impedance in the bunch, the external wires diameter should be less than the internal wire's diameter, and it is also aware that the external wires should be arranged three-phase symmetrically, also wires whose diameter are different should be avoided being laid bunched together.
