Abstract

The nonlinear simulation model of a switched reluctance machine was built using Matlab/Simulink/PSB toolbox. The energy conversion processes of switched reluctance motor and switched reluctance generator were analyzed based on the flux trace and the formula to calculate the energy efficiency of switched reluctance motor was deduced. Several optimization methods which could enhance the effective output energy of the switched reluctance machine were analyzed and simulated, the experiment was done. The simulation and experimental results indicate the validity of these methods intuitively. The introduced flux trace based simulation and analysis method, the simulation and experimental results of the optimization methods have certain reference value to the optimization design and control of the switched reluctance machine.
