Abstract
Carbon nanotubes/epoxy composite was prepared by means of melt methods. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) was employed to characterize the obtained WCNT/EP composite. Then we studied the impact strength, bend strength and bend modulus of WCNT/EP nanocomposite. As a result, when WCNT content is 0.05%, the mechanical properties are the best. The bend strength increases up to 100%, bend modulus improve up to 41%, impact strength increases up to 4 times. WCNT is dispersed well in epoxy matrix, so it enhances the mechanical properties of epoxy matrix. The effects of WCNT content on the electrical conductivity of composites were studied.
