Abstract

Steady-state creep behaviour of a 1-D C/C prepared by the CVI process was investigated by using the self-made testing device and an automatic survey system of high temperature creep data. Some important parameters of heat activation have been obtained. They are: apparent activation energy Q=428.96 kJ/mol (σ =213.46 MPa, T=2010-2160 °C), stress index n=2.97 (T=2010 °C, σ=133.83-213.46 MPa) and apparent activation volume Vo=1.059 nm3. The creep mechanism was analyzed preliminarily.
