Abstract

The overall and local buckling of the ribbed panel is analyzed by project and finite element methods in this paper. The study shows that the choice of boundary conditions in the finite element method has a great influence on the results. The stability of the ribbed panel in different boundary conditions is analyzed by using the FE software of MSC. Patran. Compared the results with the project method, an appropriate choice of the model and boundary conditions is put forward. The stability of the ribbed panel with the same area of the stringer and different stringer designs is analyzed by using the model and boundary conditions mentioned above. The results show that the design of the stringer cross section has a great influence on the stability of the ribbed panel.
