Abstract

University of Science and Technology, Mianyang Sichuan 621010, China; 2. Institute of Chemical Materials, China Academy of Engineering Physics, Mianyang Sichuan 621900, China) Abstract: Effects of the mass ratio of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate ([Emim]Ac)/dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and solution temperature on the solubility of TATB were studied. Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) were employed to research the structure, appearance and thermal properties of crystallized TATB. The results show that when the ratio of [Emim]Ac/DMSO is 3:7 and the solution temperature is 90°C, solubility of TATB reach the maximum value of 9.8g/100 g. The size of recrystallized particles can be controlled by changing the dropping rate of desolvation acetic acid. The size-larger TATB crystals of smaller crystals to fill in the gaps between the larger ones have better thermal stability.
