Abstract

The effects of purity on the properties for refractory metals, including the chemical impurities and defects, have been discussed. Several promising purifying techniques, such as electron beam floating zone melting, and plasma arc melting have been mainly investigated and compared. Some available refining methods have been suggested in this paper.
