Abstract

Switched reluctance machine (SRM) has been widely concerned because of its advantages such as high reliability and robustness, no permanent magnet, fast dynamic response and low manufacturing cost. In many applications, SRMs have become an alternative to conventional motors. However, the nonlinear inductance characteristics inherent in the doubly salient structure of SRM bring serious vibration and noise challenges. Therefore, it is of great significance to improve the performance of SRM to better meet the needs. Aiming at the problem of large vibration and noise of SRMs, after analyzing its generation mechanism and root cause, the problem of vibration and noise reduction is attributed to the reduction of radial force and torque ripple. From the two main aspects of motor body structure optimization and control strategy, several solutions for suppressing radial force and torque ripple of SRMs are reviewed, and their research status is summarized. Their advantages and disadvantages are analyzed, and the future development trend of vibration and noise reduction technology for SRMs is prospected.
