Abstract

Epoxy/clay nanocomposites' structure, preparation methods and influences on intercalation/exfoliation of clay in epoxy such as alkyl ammonium surfactant, nature of clay, curing agent, and curing conditions were extensively reviewed. The thermodynamics and kinetics of clay's intercalation/exfoliation in epoxy were also discussed.
