Abstract

Due to the problem of the ultrahigh strength steel AerMet100 grinding burn, the grinding burn mechanism and quantitative analysis method are acquired based on the grinding thermo-mechanical coupling and the test methods of the burns. Under the condition of the grinding process parameters in orthogonal test, the regression empirical model of grinding force and temperature are established on the basis of the analysis the grinding temperature and grinding force. Based on these, the grinding burn mechanism and testing method are studied, respectively using the method of pickling, microhardness and microstructure, and obtained the regression empirical model of grinding burn on grinding process parameters by the method of the Barkhausen noise, and analyzed the influence of grinding process parameters on grinding burn. It can be concluded that the grinding burn is depended on the grinding thermo-mechanical coupling, and the Barkhausen noise have the advantages of nondestructive testing and quantitative analysis for checking burn; the grinding force, the BN value of grinding burn are most sensitive factors to the change of grinding depth, the grinding temperature and the BN value of grinding burn are increased with increasing the grinding depth, grinding wheel speed and workpiece speed. The data basis and theoretical guidance provided can be used for grinding burn test and control of the ultrahigh strength steel AerMet100.
