Abstract
Measurements on velocity distributions in boundaries at the same point over smooth and riblet surface were carried out by means of hot-wire anemometer in low-speed wind tunnel. It was found that the riblet surface, having drag reducing effect, can increase near-wall flow velocity and decrease turbulent intensity, but have little influence on high-order moment by contrasting and analyzing the turbulence statistical average values, and have more than 10 percent drag-reduction by calculating momentum loss thickness.
