Abstract

A collaborative simulation platform is presented which plays an important role in product innovation. Different actors can collaborate in this environment which can support the process of design and assessment for mechanical products. In this paper, the functional modules and the technical architecture of the system are proposed. Simulation Requirement Model (SRM), database management based on meta-information and definition of simulation flow have been discussed detailedly as key technologies of the platform. Simulation flow can be constructed by simulation components which are abstracted in terms of simulation experiences and requirements. The system has been designed utilizing many advanced software technologies, including object-oriented design, Java, Java Content Repository, relation database MySQL, etc. An engineering application is used to demonstrate the practicability of the presented platform.
