title = "Recognition of space image target based on improved fractal technique",
abstract = "Edge detection is very important to recognize image targets. This paper deals with the problem on detecting a space image target from natural scenes. In order to verify whether space target exists or not by computing form the image and improving the accuracy of object recognition, an improved algorithm for space image object recognition based on fractal technique is presented in this paper. The core of this method is based on decreasing times of reiteration by reducing pixels used in estimating differential box dimension. It needs less computation time. The improved fractal dimension and the error of fractal feature are used to detect man-made object in space background, then we can partition and recognize the space targets. The validity of the proposed method is examined by processing and analyzing images of space target. The results for real images of Shenzhou-VI and launch vehicle (CZ) indicate that the method is an efficient approach for space target detection.",
