Abstract
Droplets of Co-30wt%Sn hypoeutectic alloy with different sizes were solidified during containerless processing in a 3 m drop tube. The solidified microstructures are mainly characterized by α-Co dendrites plus a binary anomalous eutectic structure of α-Co and γ-Co3Sn phases. Experimental result showed that the microstructural evolution depends mainly on droplet size.
