Abstract
The progress and advantage/disadvantage of polymer photovoltaic cell models for single-layer, double-layer, dispersed heterojunction and molecular heterojunction were reviewed in the paper. At the same time, some standing issue for polymer cell and better improvement were discussed. Synthesizing novel photoactive materials with narrow energy gap and controlling exactly material conformation can be used to improve energy conversion effciency. Finally, the prospect of polymer photovoltaic cell was put forward.
