Abstract

To solve the complex process problem caused by information coupling, concurrent product development process model based on design structure matrix (DSM) is developed. The multi-target genetic algorithm (GA) optimization toward numerical DSM was proposed to optimize the information stream orientation and obtain the optimal activities execution sequence. Based on above, rework time caused by time overlapping and iteration was calculated for coupled and uncoupled activities. Under the cost constraint, the optimization method of time model was pointed out. Finally, the optimal task execution sequence and exact time model of process were obtained. The validity and the optimization of the model with an instance were proved.
