Abstract
Sound Field Reproduction (SFR) aims to reproduce a predefined desired sound field within a target region using an array of secondary sources. Conventional electrodynamic loudspeakers, which can be approximated as monopoles, have been widely employed as secondary sources. However, in some cases, aesthetic concerns make the presence of such array undesirable. Multi-Actuator Panel (MAP) loudspeakers, which are panels driven by an array of exciters, offer an attractive alternative due to their flat, lightweight design and potential for seamless integration. Although Wave Field Synthesis (WFS) has been employed as the SFR method with MAPs, 31 it suffers st International from the Congress complexity on Sound of theand reproduction Vibration process and significant spatial discretization when the actuators on the MAP are non-uniformly distributed. This paper proposes using Pressure Matching (PM) instead of WFS as the SFR method, which determines driving signals by minimizing reproduction error at discrete control points. Furthermore, we employ Simulated Annealing (SA) to optimize actuator placement on the MAP, further enhancing reproduction accuracy. Simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, and the influence of different MAP boundary conditions on reproduction performance is also investigated.
