Abstract

The work develops pressure diffusion items for low-diffusion upwind schemes to suppress carbuncle instability. This approach effectively restrains pressure perturbation inside the internal shock structure, thereby improving shock robustness. It can preserve contact discontinuity without additional numerical viscosity. Numerical cases demonstrate that it can provide a suitable candidate for hypersonic flow simulations.
