Abstract
The effects of heating rate and holding time on phase constitute and microstructures of YBa2Cu3O7-x precursor powder by powder melting process (PMP) were investigated. The phase change of precursor powder was studied by using high temperature X-ray diffraction at 400°C/h and 6000°C/h during heating to peritectic decomposition temperature. The YBa2Cu3O7-x phase is formed by adopting a heating rate of 400°C/h. However, there exists no YBa2Cu3O7-x phase at 6000°C/h. The formation range of YBa2Cu3O7-x is obtained by studying the effect of holding time on YBa2Cu3O7-x precursor powder. The results are beneficial to controlling the process conditions and understanding the mechanism of powder melting process.
