Abstract

A parametric discretization method for blade was proposed based on the FE (finite element) mesh morphing technique. This method has advantage of realizing automatic and rapid updating of the finite elements meshes without any change of the mesh topology. Moreover, a general procedure was established for the design optimization of the gravity center eccentricity of blade in combination with design sensitivity analysis. Numerical examples were solved successfully. Optimization results show that the stress level and distribution can be largely improved by means of the proposed design procedure.
