Abstract
Laser surface remelting was conducted to improve the corrosion resistance of 1Cr18Ni9Ti austenitic stainless steel. Experimental relationship between laser treatment parameters and corrosion resistance was investigated. Particularly, an artificial neural network-genetic algorithm was introduced to optimize the laser surface treatment technique. The results indicate that artificial neural network combined with genetic algorithm offers a new effective means for technology optimization of materials processing.
