Abstract

Our research and development, begun in 2000, have aimed at filling the need of Chinese oil fields to reduce energy cost. One type of high-efficiency and energy-saving REPMSM we developed is RSM132S-4 used in oil pumps. We make a careful theoretical analysis, including the energy-saving principle, the running vector chart and the starting process. The design of RSM132S-4 is described. The experimental results of RSM132S-4 are given, and they are the same as or better than the designed values of RSM132S-4. We also show that the experimentally determined performance values of RSM132S-4 are better than the performance requirements of high-efficiency motors going to be developed and used by the European Union in 2006 and by the United States in 2007.
