On automatic control system for longitudinal landing of shipborne aircraft on carrier

Abstract

The special of this work is that we have to select control parameters for fighter aircraft without direct-lift control. Hence in designing the automatic control system, we have to integrate only H-Dot control system with the power compensation system for landing approach in order to realize the comprehensive control on the flight attitude and engine thrust. The random air turbulence, carrier burble, and deck motion were all taken into account in this design. The simulation results on a Chinese fighter aircraft show that the flight path tracking error is about 3.7m; the longitudinal tough-down error is less than 2m, which augurs well that our automatic control system may be able to satisfy the requirements of tough-down error being less than 9m for actual landing.
