Abstract

Structural dynamic finite element model updating becomes a hot topic. The history of structural dynamic finite element model updating method is addressed briefly and the advances of model updating in recent years are reviewed in three aspects, i. e. , design variables, objective functions and algorithms used in the updating technique. The design variables of model updating are discussed briefly, while emphasizing the discussion of objective functions and model updating algorithms adopted in model updating. Some strategies of model updating for the engineering structures are suggested. Finally, some key points of model updating for the future research are presented.
