Abstract

A real gas calculation model is developed using the P-R equation of state to investigate the injection and mixing characteristics of supercritical RP-3 aviation kerosene in the combustion chamber. In this investigation, n-decane is used as an alternative fuel, and the physical parameters of n-decane at the supercritical state are calculated. The jet and mixing characteristics of supercritical kerosene in different combustion chamber models are investigated by this calculation model. The combustion chamber head configuration suitable for supercritical kerosene is obtained by analyzing the spatial inhomogeneity, the deviation of equivalent ratio fluctuation, and the mixing degree.
