Abstract

The effect of K0.5Bi0.5 TiO3(KBT) on the microstructure and piezoelectric properties of(Na, K)0.5Bi0.5 TiO3 lead-free piezoelectric ceramics was investigated. The results show that the density and the grain size decrease with increasing KBT, which lead to increase piezoelectric constant d33, dielectric constant ε, and dielectric loss tanδ. But the mechanical quality factor Qm will decrease with increasing KBT. The Curie temperature will increase from 326 °C to 360 °C as the content of KBT increases from 0.07mol to 0.20mol. The ceramics with composition (Na0.85K0.15)0.5 Bi0.5TiO3 has excellent piezoelectric properties, which should be attributed to the composition lied near to the morphology phase boundary.
