Abstract

A practical 3D-sensor based on laser-triangulation was introduced. The advantage of using sheet beam and face-array CCD camera was that the 2D-scanning can be finished by moving object relative to the sensor only in one direction, so that the measuring system was simplified and can be conveniently operated. Three factors, laser speckle, CCD resolution and the width and stability of sheet-beam, which influenced and limited the precision of measurement, were discussed. The speckle noise could induce a dancing of the projective light-spot. CCD's revolution limited the one of measuring system. And the quality of sheet-beam affected the image-spot locating on CCD ship. Some ways to overcome these problems were presented and the experimental results show that these ways are practical.
